My Teaching My philosophy is to maintain a "come as you are" classroom; none of us is "too anything" for yoga, as the practice meets each of us where we are from day to day anew. And in this spirit, I guide my students to approach the practice with playfulness and curiosity. I teach in a vinyasa style (where movement is linked with the cycle of the breath), incorporate pranayama (breath extension + control) and meditation techniques, and draw on my study of the Alexander technique to inform how we align and open the physical and the subtle bodies. I came to yoga through injury and out of my experiences grew my deep love of anatomy and moving in healthy alignment. I infuse all of my classes with this emphasis while encouraging students to explore the lessons of their own experiences. I believe that our bodies inside and out reflect our relationship with the world around us, and that through patient self-study, the reverse can also be true.
